Who doesn't like toast? Toast with butter and honey, peanut butter and jam, avocado and garlic powder, or basically anything else. Pretty much everything tastes better on or with toast. Bread, however is a confusing topic. There are conflicting reports on bread such as Does bread make you fat? This is a common question that I get. The thing about questions is that I don't often get questions with solutions tact on. The moment people find out I am a dietitian they want to show their own personal knowledge. In our techno-savvy world information is at our fingertips and most people only ask questions they already think they know the answer too. This is ok because everyone is at a different baby step in their health journey! I often learn knew things in these conversations. So back to bread, the problem isn't bread, the problem is our overconsumption of process products. Bread can and usually does have a lot of preservatives added to the already overly processed item. I think that the consumption of processed products (even if it is 100% whole wheat) should be limited. We should focus on eating whole foods like brown rice, quinoa and oatmeal and save bread for a treat every now and again. When it come to which bread is best I love the Ezekiel 4:9 bread. It can be a little dry so I almost always toast the bread before eating it. This bread is the healthiest and least processed bread I've ever come across and what is great about this brand is that they use zero flour in their bread! The bread is made from sprout whole grains. You can't find bread more WHOLE then this brand. I feel like it is probably even healthier then my own home made bread! Check it out.

  1. It’s funny how people are always blaming bread! I had a friend tell me he eats his bacon cheeseburger without the bun to make it “healthy” 😂
